York Minster Area Trail
York is a beautiful city in the heart of Yorkshire, brimming with history and rich in outstanding architecture. The jewel in the crown of historical York is the magnificent Minster, which has towered above the city for over 800 years. It is the second largest Gothic Cathedral in Northern Europe and, in its windows, houses the greatest collection of medieval stained glass in England.
The Trail will take in a wide variety of architecture and an abundance of historic sights, highlighting how much there is to see and do in and around York. Feel free to stop off at any of the sites en-route which take your fancy and learn more about this fascinating city. Whether it be delving into the city's vibrant café culture, looking round the vast array of shops, taking time to enjoy some of the street entertainers, or simply watching the world go by whilst sipping a drink by the river, you are sure to have an enjoyable time. You can easily rejoin the route after your quest for knowledge, food or drink has been sated.
This Murder Mystery Walking Trail will lead you down some of York's narrow, ancient streets. It will take roughly 2 hours to complete and is approximately 2 miles long. Whilst suitable for pushchairs, the cobbled streets and narrow pavements unfortunately make the Trail unsuitable for wheelchairs.
