YOUR CASE
Recently, local petrol station owner Phil Harrup was found dead in his office in mysterious circumstances. The detective in charge of the case, Willie Solvit, believes his death could have been caused by a motorist, disgruntled about the ever increasing price of fuel. Or was it something more sinister? Can you help the detective solve the clues and find the perpetrator of the crime?
Stamford Bridge and Beyond
Stamford Bridge and Beyond is a delightful Trail taking in no fewer than six picturesque villages. You will begin in the quaint little village of Low Catton before moving on to the enchantments of High Catton, Fangfoss, Barmby Moor and Wilberfoss before reaching the grand finale in the delightful and historic Stamford Bridge. These attractive villages, located in the East Riding of Yorkshire, will each offer you a delightful insight into the appeal of rural living.
The scenic drive will take you down winding country roads, snaking alongside rolling fields filled with an abundance of crops, sleepy cows, grazing sheep and even an interesting looking pig farm! The villages themselves offer a host of handsome churches, historic war memorials, enthralling nature walks and the close knit communities who extend a warm and welcoming hand to visitors, generating a friendly atmosphere.
With so many things to see and do you will no doubt be in need of some quality food and liquid refreshments before, during and after the Trail! Never fear, with the exception of High Catton, each village offers at least one pub to choose from. There is also an exceptionally good farm shop close to Stamford Bridge, offering mouth wateringly good cakes and other treats which are not to be missed.
For those with the time and energy at the end of the Trail, and for those eager explorers wishing to extend their day out, there are plenty of short walks and cycle routes to choose from, in and around this beautiful area. The public cycle path along the impressive viaduct in Stamford bridge is highly recommended and is considered a must see.
The Stamford Bridge and Beyond Murder Mystery is a driving and walking Trail. The drive is approximately 18.5 miles long and involves six walks totalling about 2.5 miles. The Trail will last around 3 hours.
The walking part of the Trail is set mostly on flat terrain so normal walking shoes will suffice. Whilst the Trail is suitable for pushchairs, regrettably it has not been deemed suitable for wheelchair users.
