  • YOUR CASE

Recently, keen local angler, Daley Caster "hooked" a treasure map hidden in a bottle, out of Pocklington Canal. This has caused lots of excitement in the town and the surrounding area. The map shows where a hoard of pirate treasure may be hidden. Can you solve the clues and identify the location of the treasure before it falls into the wrong hands?

    Pocklington Treasure Hunt Trail

Located 15 miles from the Vale of York, the traditional English market town of Pocklington lies at the foot of the magnificent Yorkshire Wolds, a range of mysterious chalk hills that roll majestically across the landscape. With evidence of habitation since the Bronze Age, the ancient town is refreshingly unspoilt by tourism.

The Trail will highlight the beauty and interest of this historical town. The cheerful bustling Tuesday market, dating back to the 13th century, the lofty tower of the 15th century All Saints Church, picturesque old houses, an ancient street pattern, fascinating shopping alleyways and the stunning Burnby Hall Gardens are a sample of the popular attractions. If you wish to extend your walk further why not trundle along the restored pathways alongside the canal. For the more daring, rambles along The Wolds Way will stun and astound your senses. Each delight will ensure Pocklington wins a place in your heart, encouraging you to explore further afield in this scenic region.

The pleasant Pocklington Treasure Hunt Walking Trail is appoximately 2 miles long. Set mostly on flat footpaths, it is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. There is a place suitable for a picnic along the Trail.
