  • YOUR MISSION

The evil villain, Baron Ivor Grudge, has hatched a dastardly plot. Sick of hearing church bells ringing, he plans to plant a bomb in the crypt of St Mary’s, permanently ending the "infernal noise". To prevent the destruction of one of the most beautiful church buildings in England follow the clues to crack the code and deactivate the device. Succeed, and you will not only thwart the wicked scoundrel, you could win a prize!

    Beverley Spy Mystery Trail

The bustling 1,300 year old market town of Beverley has a rich townscape. An abundance of historic buildings, a vibrant racecourse, upmarket shopping, delightful cafés and bistros and its growing reputation as a festival town ensure it caters for most tastes. Two features dominate, the stunning Gothic Beverley Minster and the medieval St Mary's Church, one of the oldest in England.

This Spy Walking Trail will take you around the beautiful unspoilt Beverley, taking in the rich Georgian and Victorian architecture and a wealth of historic sights. Take time to explore on your own, allowing for plenty of rest stops, perhaps sinking into a comfy sofa in one of the trendy bars or enjoy a scrumptious afternoon tea in one of the traditional cafés. Alternatively, Beverley Westwood, a lovely large pasture, perfect for family picnics, is located nearby. As you relax, you will see cows grazing, as in centuries gone by.

Regrettably the Trail is not suitable for wheelchairs due to narrow pathways and cobbled streets.
