What is a Treasure Trail?

Before You Set Off

Navigating The Route

This is a circular investigation through Kidderminster’s town centre, canal paths and historic streets, with detectives following pavements, footpaths and waterside routes as they track down vital evidence.

Parts of the route include canal-side paths which can become muddy, along with varied surfaces and steps, so it is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. Take care near roads, crossings and especially along the canal where there is open water.

Getting There

Time to assemble your squad and open the case file:

Weavers Wharf Car Park (DY10 1AA) - Your undercover base and official starting point for the investigation.

From here, you’ll head out on foot to begin sweeping up clues.

Need the Loo?

Even top detectives need a comfort break during a long case!

Toilets can be found at:

Rowland Hill Shopping Centre on Vicar Street (near Clue 14)

Bring Your Furry Sidekicks

Four-legged detectives are welcome on the case.

With town streets and canal paths to explore, it’s a good outing for canine companions - just keep leads handy near roads and especially along the water’s edge.

Food & Drink Stops

Plenty of chances to refuel while working the case!

Kidderminster’s town centre is packed with cafés, shops and places to grab refreshments, so your squad can top up energy levels whenever needed during the investigation.

Want to Make a Day of It?

Canals, Locks & Waterside Wandering

The canal is a key part of your investigation route, offering a scenic (if slightly slippery!) stretch with locks, bridges and plenty of places for clues (or crooks!) to hide.

Carpets, Craft & Local Heritage

Kidderminster’s world-famous carpet industry runs right through this case. From historic buildings to subtle clues, the town’s textile past is woven into every step.

Museums, Railways & Extra Exploring

Once the case is closed, you could delve deeper into local history at the Museum of Carpet, hop aboard the Severn Valley Railway, or even head to the nearby safari park for a completely different kind of adventure.
