26/05/2011
Finding things to do at half term that suits everyone can be a challenge and particularly if money is tight or being saved for the summer holidays!
Everyone in the family may have different ideas and that's OK, but when the extended family of grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles are also involved, it can be quite a headache pleasing them all!
So, when the shout goes up.... Mum, I'm bored or Dad, what are we going to do today..... think of Treasure Trails as a solution! And, instead of just buying the Trail and following the route you can add to the adventure in the following ways....
1. Dress up as James Bond for the spy mission
2. Treat the Suspect Gallery on the Murder Mysteries as a bingo card and give everyone a line and whichever line is completed first gets a small prize or the choice of where to have lunch/picnic
3. Divide into two groups and have the second group go round the wrong way! Hard to do, but great fun.
4. Dress up as Sherlock Holmes for the murder mysteries.
5. Add a scavenger hunt to the Trail and have everyone look for a variety of things along the way (feather, coin, pinecone, red leaf, etc.,, you get the picture)
6. See how many words you can get out of TREASURETRAILS as you walk along - there are more than 50!
7. Divide the Lost Treasure Map into a number of segments to match the number of players in your team and assign a segment to each person and whoever ends up with the winning location in their segment gets to pick the next place to explore
8. Dress up as a pirate for the lost treasure adventures!
If you have done other things, let us know! We love to hear your stories and will publish them on our news pages or blog.
