YOUR CASE
In 1827, David Jones sailed away from Aberaeron harbour never to be seen again. Last year, some local children found a bottle in the sea. It contained a map showing an island group in the Caribbean that Jones had discovered. It also contained instructions (see below) on how to find the treasure that Jones had discovered. If you can you solve the clues and identify the location of the treasure, you could win a prize!
Aberaeron
Almost 1 house in every 4 is special in Aberaeron – either for its history or architecture. The town came of being in the early 1800s thanks to the generosity and foresight of the Reverend Alban Thomas Jones Gwynne and the planning skills of his son Col Gwynne. One of the prettiest places in the area it now attracts visitors for its scenery, picturesque postcard houses, sailing port and local arts and crafts. The town has two big events throughout the year, an annual fair held on the 13 November and if you visit during August, look out for the Aberaeron Festival of Welsh Ponies and Cobs. This Treasure Hunt takes you around the harbour, along the sea front, into the main street and then the outskirts of town returning alongside the river.
This Treasure Hunt Trail is nearly 3 miles long and will take approximately 2 hours. Part of the Trail takes the shingle coastal path which regrettably is not suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs should be OK.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
We enjoyed your trail because some of the clues were aimed just right for the kids to solve themselves, but also because of the trickier ones around the Harbour Master and the Town Hall were clever and took more thinking about
