Welcome to
West Wales

Wales is a wonderful part of the United Kingdom to visit and particularly West Wales. Each of the four counties; Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Swansea has something different to offer.  In Pembrokeshire, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park runs for nearly 260 miles through stunning scenery, glorious beaches and windy headlands. Carmarthenshire is known as the ‘Garden of Wales’ and as well as having lovely rolling hills is home to legends of King Arthur and Merlin.  Cardigan Bay, Ceredigion is famous for its sightings of dolphins and whales – in some places they may be regularly seen from the shore and if it’s nightlife and entertainment that you want, then head south to vibrant Swansea.  Mountains, valleys, fishing villages, mines, waterfalls, caves, wildlife, iron-age forts, burial chambers, castles and seaside towns and shopping are all available for the visitor, come and experience it.

See the map below for where Trails have already been established.  Trail writing is ongoing or planned for the following areas.

Ammanford Llanelli Swansea
Carmarthen Milford Haven Tenby
Haverfordwest Narberth Tregaron
Laugharne Pembroke The Mumbles
Llandeilo Saundersfoot
Llandovery St Clears

The Trails offer an entertaining experience for the whole family; they are a fun, healthy and educational way to get you out and about exploring the local area. The Trails are based around three main themes, either that of a Murder Mystery where you are asked to identify a Murderer and the weapon used, a Treasure Hunt to identify the location of some hidden treasure or a Spy Trail where you need to reveal a deactivation code to complete your mission.

Treasure Trails are great fun with your partner or friends. They are completed in your own time and at your own pace, so if you run out of time then you can come back and complete it later. There is no ‘Best Before’ date on our Trails. All the details you require to complete the Trails are contained within the A5 booklet that you can purchase online. No map and compass is required as we provide a starting point and directions throughout. The clues require you to search the area that we direct you to. Answers may be found on permanent features such as plaques, war memorials, signs etc. All that you require is good eyesight and an inquisitive mind.

If you buy the Trail online you have the option to download it from the internet and then print it yourself or select the "Buy £6 Booklet" if you would prefer a professionally printed copy in a smart presentation envelope. If you select this – and we recommend you do, we will post your Trail/s, first class, in the mail to you. The Trails in their smart presentation envelopes make ideal birthday and anniversary presents, so stock up today!

Have fun, many regards
