Being only a 10 minute ferry journey away from Largs on the mainland, the Isle of Cumbrae has long been a popular destination for day trippers. The road around the island is cycle friendly, with a 30mph speed limit. It follows the shore and is very flat, making for easy cycling, and has many points of interest along the way. The interior of the island is hillier, but still offers some interesting walking and cycling options.
The dedicated cycle Trail follows the shore road around the island, and includes a section in Millport which you would be safer solving on foot. The cycling distance is approximately 10 miles and you should allow at least 4 hours for your visit.
