Devon Trail Trouble
If you had trouble solving a Trail, check the list below to see if your problem has been reported before.
When a problem has been reported we fix the Trail immediately, but if your Trail was bought some time ago, your copy will still have the old clue. However to allow you still to enter the competition, the answer to the clue is shown below.
Devon has now introduced a Trail Trouble Hotline. By calling 07938 954 736 you will hear a recorded message listing any Trail Trouble in Devon. If a clue has had to be replaced the old answer wll be revealed!
The overall solution to a Trail is never affected.

Budleigh Salterton: Clue 20 - The shop has now closed down and the sign removed. The answer was David Thorn.
24th August 2007
Ilfracombe: Clue 2 - The Museum has been repainted and the external paintings changed. A new clue has now been set. The old answer was Tina Thorne.

North Devon; Clue 11 - The Museum has been repainted and the external paintings changed. A new clue has now been set. The old answer was 1860.

North Devon: Clue Croyde 2 (old format booklet) - Eliminate the weapon with the same date that a ‘seasoned boulder’ was established? The Salt Rock Shop sign has been refurbished. Answer 1988 – The Axe.

Okehampton: Clue 10 - the old wheel in the trough has been removed! The answer to this clue is Nick Bamford.
24th May 2007.
Bigbury: Clue 15 - The information board has been replaced by a new information board which does not include any names or towns. The answer to this clue is William Ryder.
Clue 16 - The bench has been removed. The answer to this clue is Bernard Holt.

Kingsbridge: Clue 19 - the board has been removed. The answer to this clue is George Montagu.

Dartmouth, Exmouth,Tavistock and Brixham have all had amendments. This only applies to the older versions of the Trails. Details of affected clues are shown below:
Dartmouth: Clue 15 (old format booklet) – Eliminate the weapon with the year of the formation of No.1 Commando. Plaque missing. Answer 1941.
Clue 18 (old format booklet) – Find the Welcome to Dartmouth sign… Sign replaced with a new Discover Dartmouth. Answer Josh Puckey
Exmouth: - Clue 16 – Eliminate the weapon that matches the date of when the boatyard on your right was established. Being demolished - Answer 1875.
Direction 16. Continue on and turn left signed Exmouth Docks. Continue straight on into Exmouth Marina. Sign removed. Now reads ‘Continue on and turn left opposite No. 12 Camperdown Terrace. Continue straight on into Exmouth Marina’.
Brixham: Clue 17 (old format booklet) – A Mayor with initials can be ticked off. Plaque missing – Answer DHJ Mason
Tavistock: Direction 12 – Due to a new mini-roundabout being built, direction now amended to read ‘Continue on along the main road and down the hill passing the mini-roundabout. The overall solution to these Trails remains unaffected, and all have been updated.
