  • YOUR CASE

Archaeologists digging in the Roman Ruins in Chichester unearthed the journal of Roman Centurion, Clueless Maximus. Included was a map of where he had hidden his hoard of coins and jewellery, to retrieve it at a later date. His last journal tells of having to leave Britain in a hurry without being able to recover it. Solve the clues to find his secret hideaway. You won't get any of the treasure but you could win a cash prize!

    Chichester City

The City of Chichester is compact and yet still manages to find space for many cultural attractions, shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes. Your adventure starts at the Visitor Information Centre in South St and takes you past many sites which tell the story of Chichester's history from Roman times right through to the present day. You will pass many listed buildings in the conservation area and be able to explore the magnificent Norman Cathedral and its surroundings.

This is a walking Trail of 1.4 miles which should take about 1.5 hours. It is entirely on pavements and hard pathways around the town, and is therefore suitable for pushchairs. The Trail is also suitable for wheelchairs, although some of the pavements are narrow in the older part of the city. The Trail goes through Priory Park which closes at dusk. This may be a spot to stop and enjoy a picnic.
