What better place to start your quest than in the very heart of the county town? Much of the Trail is in pedestrianised areas, allowing you to relax and enjoy it to the full. There are lots of cafes and restaurants, along with places to rest awhile as you puzzle over the answers. Stafford is a town full of history and fascinating buildings. Half-timbered houses are mixed in with classical grandeur and there is something to be found around every corner. The Trail will only take you to some of the best places to see - allow extra time to explore on your own. The town has ample parking and the Trail is ideal for wheelchairs and pushchairs; please note that the park where you must solve clues 15 to 19 closes at dusk each day. In any event, do you really want to search for a murderer after dark?
An hour and a half should be ample for this walking Murder Mystery Trail of around 1.25 miles. The town has numerous car parks and there are a number of opportunities for a picnic or refreshment stop en route, especially in the riverside park. Wheelchairs and pushchairs can complete the Trail and time should be allowed for further exploration of the town and its attractions.
