  • YOUR MISSION

The evil scientist, Dr.I.C.Waters, has produced a concoction that has frozen the canal and stranded all the narrowboats. Rather than give in to his blackmail demands, solve the clues to discover the code to neutralise his chilling machine and release all the craft from their icy bonds.

    Gnosall

This Trail takes you around the twin villages of Gnosall and Gnosall Heath, one centred on the medieval church of St.Lawrence and the other alongside the Shropshire Union Canal. They are bisected by the Way Of The Millenium, a footpath crossing Staffordshire from west to east. Here, it makes use of the trackbed of a disused railway and allows the walker to bypass the busy main road and enjoy the peace of the countryside. Only one flight of four steps prevents the trail being ideal for wheelchairs, but it is possible to bypass this problem by using a short stretch of road. Narrowboats, wildlife, ancient buildings - the perfect excuse to be out and about, exploring.

On this walking Spy Trail of some 2.5 miles, a short flight of steps unfortunately makes it unsuitable for wheelchairs. Pushchairs, however, can be used, and it would be straightforward to cycle the route. Some two hours should prove adequate to complete the Trail.
