YOUR MISSION
Twisted Dr Ivor Plott is at it again in Somerset. Whilst relaxing from his devious plans he enjoys horse racing and owns a racehorse called "Evil Genius".
His horse is due to race at Wincanton at the next meeting and with the aim of gaining an unfair advantage by spooking the rival horses, he has left a bomb near to the local racing stables.
Can you decipher the code to save the races?
Wincanton
Wincanton is a small town in the south of Somerset on the main A303 London road.
Although classed as a Market Town it does not have a weekly market although there is a thriving farmers' market on the first Friday of each month.
In the Domesday Survey of 1086 it was known as Wincaleton thought to mean 'Pleasant town on the Cale'. Since 1724 it has been written as Wincanton.
In November 1688 a skirmish between the men of King James II's army and invading forces of Prince William of Orange occurred in the town and William of Orange spent at least one night in the Town.
On 13th May 1707 a fire destroyed most of the older buildings in the High Street and the centre of town.
The town is also now famous for its racecourse and is home of Wincanton Distribution one of Europe's largest Logistic and Distribution services, you may well have seen their lorries during your travels.
This information is taken from the Wincanton Official Guide. Find out more about this town at www.wincantontowncouncil.co.uk
