Weston -super-Mare
Weston-super-Mare is a lovely seaside town, the main attraction being its beach and Grand Pier. Although the century-old pier was almost entirely destroyed by fire in July 2008 the new pier, rebuilt in 2010, has once again been awarded Pier of the Year for 2011. The beach has the second largest tidal range in the world, in excess of 15 metres. The sand stretching far out towards the sea at low tide is a spectacular sight. Grove Park in the town is a relaxing place for a picnic; you will visit the park about two thirds of the way around the Trail.
This is a lovely circular Trail which starts and finishes on the sea front. Ideal for a well earned ice cream when you finish. It is approximately 2 1/2 miles long and will take about 2 hours to complete. Along the way you will take in the sea front, town centre, parks and gardens. There is a hill in the middle up through the cemetery but the effort is definitely worth it. The Trail is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
