YOUR MISSION
Twisted Dr Ivor Plott has had many a failed plan, from exploding fireworks in Bridgwater to smelly smoke bombs on Exmoor, all of which have taken their toll on his band of henchmen!
M T Head, his right hand man, is currently incarcerated in the town's prison. Dr Plott has placed a bomb against one of the ancient prison walls hoping to spring his loyal assistant. Can you work out the code and foil his plans once again?
Shepton Mallet
Shepton Mallet is a lovely mixture of ancient and modern. An old market town combined with a new industrial community situated on the edge of the Mendip Hills. The town grew as a result of the cloth industry which peaked in the 17th century. The focus of the town switched to brewing in the 19th century, with the Anglo-Bavarian brewery building still dominating the skyline of the town. Gaymers cider company are still an important part of the town, producing various ciders and the world's famous Babycham. Shepton Mallet is also home to the oldest working prison in the country with a gaol being present in the town since 1610.
This is a lovely circular Trail of just over 2 miles and will take about 2 hours to complete. It is level and suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. You will start at the Tourist Information Centre in the High Street and take in a combination of what the town is known for. Its ancient market and the industrious brewing sector. You will also pass through the beautiful Collett park on your mission to foil the twisted Dr's plot. Good Luck.
