Twisted Doctor Ivor Plott is at it again! His proposal to lengthen the pier and put a crazy golf course on the end has been turned down for a third time by the town council on the grounds that, as it stands, it is the shortest pier in the UK. Having appealed the decision and hoping to force the council's hand he has planted a bomb under the pier timed to go off during the next hearing.
Can you work out the code and save the pier?
Burnham-On-Sea
Burnham-on-Sea is a traditional seaside resort. Famed for having three lighthouses, one being a unique nine legged stilted wooden structure on the beach. Burnham is also reknown for having possibly the shortest pier in the UK. On a clear day the views from the beach of Bridgwater Bay and the Welsh coast are spectacular. The busy town centre and miles of sandy beaches mean there is plenty to do for both young and old.
The Trail is just over 3 miles long and will take about 2 1/2 hours to complete. The route is totally level and suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. It starts and finishes on the Esplanade in the area of the Tourist Information Centre where there is ample opportunity to purchase a well deserved ice cream. Along the route you will see all three of Burnham's Lighthouses and the shortest pier in the UK. Pay and display parking is available adjacent to the start point in Pier Street car park.
