YOUR CASE
Two of Ludlow's famous foreign chefs, Pepe Roni and Brad Wurste were competing again to make the finest sausages for the Food Festival when Pepe's able assistant, Mini Stroni, was discovered dead in the castle grounds. Although suspicion fell on Brad and his band of foodie followers police could not even pin a frankfurter on them. But new evidence is brewing and with your help this well-seasoned murder mystery can now be solved.
Ludlow
Ludlow and its castle are perched on a cliff above the picturesque River Teme in south Shropshire, one of the most unspoiled parts of rural England. The town breathes history at every turn, but it's far from being a museum piece. The town centre's ordered elegance is evidence of the 900 year old Norman planned town.
Ludlow has acquired a reputation for being the centre for some of the best food and drink in Britain. In Ludlow you will come actoss an impressive number of independent, specialist food shops: butchers, bakers, cheese shops, delicatessens, whole food shops, organic food shops.... All selling products of the highest quality, much of which is sourced locally. Not just traditional shops, but also there is a farmers' market held twice-monthly in the main square, as well as the traditional open-air market containing food stalls, held three or four times a week. There are also several excellent farm shops in the surrounding area. Definitely worth a visit!
The Trail around the town starts outside the Tourist Information Centre which is in Castle Square close to Ludlow Castle. Ludlow is rich in blue plaques, but this Trail seeks out some of the other things to see and learn about and you may notice things in Ludlow that you haven't seen before even if you are local! The closest car park is off Castle Square, just opposite the Tourist Information Centre. The Trail will take around 2 to 2 and a half hours provided you don't stop and browse the shops and eat and drink in the cafes and restaurants!
