YOUR CASE
The Museum of Iron is in chaos after the body of Sid "Smelter" Smith is found beside his anvil. Had he spotted some teddy bear thieves in the factory next door who then silenced him, or was it someone who wished to usurp his metallurgical crown? It has fallen to you, Inspector Lock, to track down his attacker and put them behind bars.
Ironbridge Gorge
This is another taster Trail at a location that is regularly requested.
The World Heritage site of Ironbridge lies along the gorge of the River Severn. Industrial advances here in the early 18th century paved the way for the Industrial Revolution that saw Britain become the workshop of the world. Today, ten museums and the iconic iron bridge attract visitors from all over the world. There are Victorian towns, potteries, interactive science parks, sculpture trails and a host of other attractions, but the town still manages to retain its air of Victorian prosperity. The Trail climbs steeply up the side of the gorge and some of the roads followed lack footpaths making it hard work for those with pushchairs and all but impossible for a wheelchair. It will lead you to places that you should take time to investigate after finishing the Trail in order to get the most out of your visit. Indeed, you could return many times and always find more than you were looking for. Apart from the one steep hill, the Trail is all on paved roads and paths. There are toilets and picnic areas at a number of points along it, allowing you to complete it at your own pace. The one essential is that you remember to take your camera along!
