  • YOUR CASE

World famous archaeologist Dusty Rock has been found murdered in his hotel room in Stirling. He had been digging at the site of a proposed new commercial development on the outskirts of town, and it is rumoured he was about to put a stop to the developer's plans. Your job is to follow the trail of clues around Stirling to find out "whodunnit" and with what weapon.

    Stirling

In the heart of Scotland, and of strategic importance throughout the centuries, lies Stirling, with its famous castle gazing down from a lofty perch onto the cobbled streets of the old town. With famous names from history, such as William Wallace and Rob Roy, and many battlefields located nearby, Stirling is also a modern city which offers a wealth of attractions for visitors and locals alike.
The Murder Mystery Trail leads you on a circuit, taking in some of the best sites Stirling has to offer. Passing through the pedestrian precinct on Port Street, the Trail then takes you on a winding route towards the top of the town to the Church of the Holy Rude (just below Stirling Castle), returning via the historic Back Walk, the oldest publicly maintained road in Scotland.

The route involves a steady climb up the hill towards the castle. There are some cobbled streets to negotiate but no steps, thus making the Trail suitable for all. As the Trail follows a circuit, you could start anywhere along the route.
Distance : 2 miles Time : Allow at least 2 hours
