YOUR CASE
Local yachtswoman, Gill Chop, has been found murdered. Her body was fished out of the Crinan Canal and her boat was found drifting nearby. Local rumours suggest that she had become involved with drug smuggling on a recent trip to South America.
Your job is to follow the Trail of clues around Lochgilphead and Ardrishaig to find out "whodunnit" and with what weapon.
Loch Gilp
Situated in Mid Argyll, the towns of Lochgilphead and Ardrishaig are well worth a visit. The busier Lochgilphead has many interesting shops to explore, whilst Ardrishaig has the peaceful banks of the Crinan Canal to wander along. Only 10 miles away is Kilmartin Glen and its large concentration of prehistoric sites.
The Murder Mystery Trail is in 2 parts, with clues to solve in both Lochgilphead and Ardrishaig. Each of these sections follows a circular route and is approximately 1 mile long. Why not walk along the canal towpath or cycle the 2 miles between each section instead of driving? The Trail is suitable for all, although 2 of the clues in the Ardrishaig section would be difficult to access for wheelchair users. Parents should be aware that the Ardrishaig section follows the tow path alongside the canal for some of the way.
