  • YOUR CASE

Local farmer Archibald Gregor Tompkinson was today found murdered in his byre. Police are appealing for help from the public, and they have a number of suspects for the crime. Local rumours suggest Mr Tompkinson's opulent lifestyle was not attained solely through farming, and that he was up to his neck in dodgy dealings. Your task is to follow the trail of clues around Inveraray and work out "whodunnit" and with what weapon.

    Inveraray

Enjoying a picturesque setting on the shores of Loch Fyne, Inveraray's pretty whitewashed streets are just waiting to be explored. Built by the Duke of Argyll in the 18th century, it is one of the finest examples of a planned town in Scotland. Its many visitor attractions include Inveraray Jail, the Bell Tower, the floating Maritime Museum on the Arctic Penguin, and of course the magnificent Inveraray Castle, home of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll.

The Murder Mystery Trail leads you on a fairly level route around Inveraray passing all the above attractions and finishing outside the front of Inveraray Castle. It is suitable for all, including pushchairs and wheelchairs.
    Distance - 1.5 miles. Time - allow 1.5 hours.
