YOUR CASE
A media frenzy has ensued following the discovery of the body of popular American film star Miss Vanda Ventone in Rothesay yesterday. Rumours of an alleged association with organised crime have thrown up several suspects. Can you follow the trail of clues around Rothesay to find out "whodunnit" and with what weapon?
Rothesay
The gateway to the Isle of Bute, Rothesay was once a thriving Victorian seaside resort. Indeed, in its heyday in the late 1800s, up to 100 steamers a day would bring visitors to what was considered a fashionable and accessible seaside resort. Being Bute’s largest settlement, Rothesay boasts most of the island’s shops, the Discovery Centre in the Winter Gardens and Rothesay Castle. It is only a 15 minute drive to Mount Stuart, the Gothic red sandstone palace that is Bute’s foremost visitor attraction.
The Murder Mystery Trail leads you on a circuit of Rothesay, taking in the harbour area, Rothesay Castle, the museum, a stunning view of the bay and even the Victorian public loos!Although the Trail is suitable for light pushchairs, unfortunately it is not suitable for wheelchairs. It includes 1 fairly steep and quite long climb, 1 moderate climb and several short sets of steps.
Distance : 2 miles Time : Allow at least 2 hours
