YOUR CASE
In what seems to be a copycat killing from the storyline of her latest novel, crime writer Misty Plot has been found dead in the storeroom of one of Wigtown's most popular book shops. Detective Laura Norder is in charge of the case and has compiled a list of suspects. Can you solve these clues to identify the murderer and the weapon used in this shocking crime? If you are successful you could win a prize!
Wigtown
Wigtown is a beautiful town set in the idyllic surroundings of The Machars of Wigtownshire, South West Scotland.
It is well known today as Scotland's National Book Town and is home to a wealth of second-hand book shops. Despite having over 20 book-related businesses including bookshops and publishers, the demand for bookshops has exceeded supply of typical premises, leading to bookshops in surrounding villages, in industrial units, and in people's homes. The town now also plays host to a successful bi-annual Wigtown Book Festival.
With free and easy parking in the town's wide streets and market square (including the widest main street in Scotland), shopping is a pleasure in Wigtown. It’s an easy stroll round bookshops, gift shops, cafes and hotels, whilst its historic buildings - most of the town centre is C-listed - add character.
This Murder Mystery Walking Trail is approximately 2 miles long and should take about 2 hours to complete. Unfortunately it is not suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs as there are some steps and a grassy slope on the route.
