Exciting news! A sealed earthenware pot containing an ancient scroll depicting a series of clues and directions has been unearthed during building works close to Lockerbie. It is believed that they could lead to buried treasure left in haste by crooked Roman guard Gallus Thievius during the retreat of his legion. Can you solve the clues and find the location of the treasure?

    Lockerbie

With a population of around 4000, Lockerbie is a small town just 20 miles from the English border. It has excellent transport links, lying next to the M74 and having a train station on the main Glasgow to London West Coast Main Line.

Lockerbie's town hall is its most imposing building and is an excellent example of Scottish baronial style, built in the typical local red sandstone.

Despite its small size and rural location, Lockerbie and its surroundings boast a wide choice of services, retail outlets and lots more.

This walking Treasure Hunt is about 2 miles long and should take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. It is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
