  • YOUR MISSION

Having completely lost the plot, eccentric and controversial local artist Minnie Van Gogh has decided to paint the town pink! She has placed a bomb and a large quantity of pink paint in a hot air balloon with the intention of exploding it over the town centre. Help preserve beautiful Kirkcudbright by solving the clues to find the code needed to deactivate the bomb. If you are successful, you could win a prize!

    Kirkcudbright

Kirkcudbright is a genuinely pretty Scottish town with its pastel coloured houses and shops in its wide streets, its castle and its harbour. The town lies south of Castle Douglas, in the part of Dumfries and Galloway known as the Stewartry, situated at the mouth of the River Dee, some six miles from the sea.

It is also known as "The Artists' Town" as the streets behind the harbour have housed generations of artists, a tradition maintained today by a flourishing colony of painters and craftworkers.

This Spy Trail is about 1.5 miles long and should take approximately 1.5 hours to complete. It is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

The Trail passes many of Kirkcudbright's attractions including the museum, the Tolbooth Art Centre, MacLellan's Castle and the harbour.
Parking is free all over the town.
