YOUR CASE
Would-be entrepeneur, Anna Prentice, has been found dead. It had recently been discovered that, in an attempt to make her fortune, she had developed a system to make Kilsyth the outdoor curling capital of the world by inflicting a microclimate on the whole area that would keep the outside temperature at a constant -10 degrees, a very unpopular plan. There are several suspects to this crime. Solve the clues to find out whodunnit!
Kilsyth
Kilsyth is a small town nestling at the foot of the Kilsyth Hills in North Lanarkshire. It has claims to be the place where the winter sport of curling was first constituted. The town had the world's first curling club which survives to this day. Curling was played on the Curling Pond in the Colzium Estate in the east of the town.
Kilsyth's Main Street is a pedestrian precinct and the paving materials have been varied to echo the windings of the burns which cross the town, while poetry incised on the stonework of the three focal points has the same theme and was contributed by members of the local community. The town has a variety of buildings and streets reflecting the history of weaving and mining.
To the east of the shopping area lies Burngreen Park with its well kept formal flowerbeds, paths and trees, as well as its very handsome centrepiece, an Edwardian Bandstand and nearby drinking fountain. Past the Library and Health Centre is an excellent facility for children - a play park and a traffic school, where young cyclists can practise on a mini-road system that's free from motorists.
This Trail is approximately 1.5 miles long and the Trail itself should take no more than 1.5 hours to complete. It is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
