Gatehouse of Fleet
Gatehouse of Fleet, in the rural heart of Dumfries and Galloway, is a pretty 'wee toon'. Set in the middle of a National Scenic Area on the edge of the magnificent Galloway Forest Park, it has so much to offer - friendly people, beautiful scenery, individual shops and a choice of excellent accommodation.
Gatehouse of Fleet caters for a wide range of interests. The area is steeped in history and supports many interesting species of wildlife. There are opportunities for a variety of sporting activities, including golf, sailing, mountain biking and fishing. Most of all, this is a peaceful beauty spot in which to relax and unwind.
The Gatehouse of Fleet Murder Mystery Trail will take you on a route of about 1.5 miles around the town. It includes some quiet streets that have no pavements and a track through a park regrettably making it unsuitable for wheelchairs, though suitable for cautious use of pushchairs. The Trail should take about 1.5 hours, though you are likely to spend extra time exploring some of the town's interesting places.
This Trail should also be available from Franca Bruno in the old church on the High Street in Gatehouse of Fleet, The CatStrand in New Galloway and from the Visitor Information Centre in Kirkcudbright.
