YOUR CASE
Up and coming local playwright Agatha Misty has been found dead in the grounds of East Kilbride Theatre. Apparently she was considering it as a venue for her latest satirical play which poked fun at many local people. Detective Laura Norder has come across some clues that could lead to the arrest of the culprit and is seeking your help.
Can you solve the clues to solve this Murder Mystery?
East Kilbride The Village
Designated as Scotland's first 'new town' in 1947, East Kilbride grew from a rural Lanarkshire village to become Scotland's sixth largest town. Today East Kilbride, located close to Glasgow and the main motorway routes, is a central base for business, a great place to live, shop, work and play, and an ideal jumping-off location for touring many exciting locations in Scotland.
The Village encompasses the oldest part of the town, dating back to before the designation of East Kilbride as a new town. It was East Kilbride’s original shopping centre and is now the location for many small traditional, speciality shops and services mixed with a variety of restaurants and pubs.
The Old Parish Church with its square clock tower is widely recognised as a symbol of the Village and East Kilbride. Nearby, the Montgomerie Arms (circa 1719) is a much frequented pub and known affectionately to the locals as "The Monty".
The Village Project, launched in December 1990, has maintained and enhanced the unique physical character of the Village. Today, this improved and restored historic conservation area is a joy to visit and in which to shop.
This Murder Mystery Walking Trail is about 1.5 miles long and should take approximately 1.5 hours to complete. Please note there are some steps just after the Council Offices at the beginning of the Trail. These should be reasonably negotiable for pushchairs. Wheelchair users could avoid these steps by crossing at the lights just after clue 1 and using the underpasses to rejoin the path after the steps.
