  • YOUR MISSION

Jamie McBond from the Scottish security forces has recently discovered an enemy underground listening post in the grounds of Dean Castle. In order to gain access without activating the self-destruct system, a four digit code is required. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to solve the clues to crack the code. If you are successful you could even win a prize. Good luck!

    Kilmarnock Dean Castle

Lying just to the north of Kilmarnock, Dean Castle is a beautiful, sprawling historical part of Scotland with a lively past that has been at the heart of many events in national history.

Formerly the home of the Boyd family, Earl of Kilmarnock, Dean Castle houses an impressive collection of antique musical instruments and arms and armour from the Low Middle Ages to the Jacobean period, collected by Lord Howard De Walden. There are daily tours of the building during the afternoons, while the castle grounds are always open to the public.

A Visitor Centre enables everyone to learn more about the Country Park and its wildlife in the Discovery Room and Auditorium. This building also houses a tea room and gift shop.

The Country Park covers 200 acres, providing a variety of beautiful walks for all ages and abilities. This Spy Trail offers an exciting new way to explore part of this beautiful Country Park as well as part of the adjoining Dean Park.

This Spy Trail is approximately 2 miles long and should take about 2 hours to complete. The route is reasonably level and should be suitable for pushchairs, though weather conditions could make parts of some paths muddy.
