  • YOUR CASE

Prior to an ancient battle, Bob the Luce, chieftain of Clan Luce, buried his treasure to keep it safe from the marauding English soldiers. Sadly Bob was killed in battle leaving the treasure hidden till now. A map and clues have recently been discovered. Could this lead to the treasure? If you can solve these clues you could win a prize!

    Castle Douglas

Castle Douglas is a small town situated near the centre of Dumfries and Galloway, an ideal base for exploring the region. The town has an interesting history, especially that of Threave Castle, the stronghold of the Black Douglases.

With approximately fifty local businesses involved in either producing or selling food and drink, it is easy to see why Castle Douglas has been designated a Food Town. The vibrancy and appeal of the town lies largely in the draw of the shops and cafés, restaurants and hotels.

This Walking Treasure Trail is about 2 miles long and should take approximately 2 hours to complete. It is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
