  • YOUR MISSION

Notorious cattle thief, Russell N Steele, has rounded up valuable Highland Cows and has hidden them in a field off one of the cattle droving roads surrounding Tomintoul. He intends to move them by the cover of darkness and the gate is currently locked with a combination padlock. Can you solve the clues to reveal the code which will de-activate the lock and free the animals, enabling them to return to their farms?

    Tomintoul

Tomintoul, reputed to be the highest village in the Highlands, lies between the River Avon (pronounced A'an) to the west and the River Conglass to the east in the Cairngorms National Park. Founded by Alexander, 4th Duke of Gordon, as a planned town, the village retains much of its original character with the surrounding area offering an abundance of outdoor activities with waymarked walking and cycling trails, fishing and cross-country and downhill skiing. Learn about the Monacled Mutineer and read the tragic tale of the 'Lass o' the Lecht' at the museum afterwards.

This is a circular, walking spy Trail. The Trail is about 3 miles long and takes about 3 hours to complete. Unfortunately the Trail is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs as the route involves walking up a forestry track and walking through woods.
