YOUR CASE

In the spring of 1879 a local builder, Russ T. Hinge, discovered a chest of gold coins in the grounds of Arthurseat Estate on which Duthie Park was built. Russ T. Hinge re-buried the chest in a secret location but died before he could dig it up. Fortunately old archives have revealed his map providing clues to its location. Can you solve the clues and locate the buried treasure?

Duthie Park Trail

Duthie Park, with its wide avenues and stunning views, overlooks the banks of the River Dee with many of the original features of the park remaining almost intact or modified. The Winter Garden is located in the park and is the city’s most visited tourist attraction. It houses a beautiful floral paradise from January to December, with rare and exotic plants on show from all over the world. Under its impressive glass dome you can see no less than 600 different species of cacti.

This Buried Treasure walking Trail takes you round Aberdeen's Duthie Park, is approximately 1½ miles long and takes about 1½ hours to complete. It is suitable for pushchairs and assisted wheelchairs. (Assistance is needed with clues 5 and 12)
