YOUR CASE
In 1815, George James Craig sailed away down the Dee from Banchory, never to be seen again. Last year a local fisherman found an old bottle in the sea. It contained a map showing a Caribbean island group that George had discovered. It also contained the instructions on how to find the treasure that George had collected and hidden. Can you solve the clues and find the location of the treasure?
Banchory
It’s amazing how we walk around with our eyes closed sometimes without appreciating our surroundings. Our Banchory walking buried treasure Trail has been designed with this in mind and will show you the best bits of this Royal Deeside town in a fun and entertaining way. The circular Trail will take you through the centre of Banchory, along the banks of the stunning River Dee and through the historical Banchory-Ternan Kirkyard.
This circular buried treasure Trail is 2 miles long and will take about 2 hours. There are 2 short flights of steps and a gentle hill. It is mainly on marked paths and pavements and is suitable for pushchairs but regrettably not wheelchairs.
