  • YOUR CASE

Explorer and survival expert Hal B Offthen had been planning an attempt to recreate Alexander Selkirk's epic adventure, living alone on the island of Juan Fernandez for four years. Before he could set off his body was found aboard his vessel, the Castaway. Police suspect foul play! Who wanted to keep Selkirk's memory intact? Follow theTrail, solve the clues and you could win a prize!

    Lower Largo with Lundin Links

Lower Largo is a lovely harbour village in the East Neuk of Fife, with wonderful beaches, lovely village pubs and cafes. It is best known as the home of Alexander Selkirk, a real life Robinson Crusoe who was castaway for over four years on the deserted island of Juan Fernandez. The village adjoins Lundin Links, which has two golf links including a women's course.

The Trail is two and a half miles long and takes around two and a half hours to complete. It includes part of Lundin Links, the harbour and beach in Lower Largo and the Alexander Selkirk statue. It includes steps and a stile, as well as uneven sections of the coastal path. Because of these, it is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. Stout shoes, not high heels, are recommended.
