  • YOUR CASE

Over 700 years ago the Wizard of Balwearie worked in a secret turret room trying to turn base metal into gold. An old treasure map uncovered recently in an unused corner of the park is said by some experts to show the place where the Wizard buried his successful transformations, lest he be tried for witchcraft. Can you solve the clues to find the location of the treasure and perhaps win a prize?

    Kirkcaldy Beveridge Park

Beveridge Park lies to the West of Kirkcaldy, and has many pleasant features including formal gardens, play facilities, sporting facilities and a pond where boating is available. The park dates back to 1892, when Provost Michael Beveridge bequeathed 104 acres of Raith Estate to the people of Kirkcaldy. The car park is situated on Abbotshall Road, ten minutes walk from Kirkcaldy Railway Station. Facilities include football, rugby, tennis, bowls, boating in summer, putting, multi-use games area, bouncy castle, extensive play areas, rose and flower gardens, bog garden and woodland walks.
This Trail takes you around and through Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldy. All paths are wide and smooth although there is one steep hill, from which there are stunning views over Kirkcaldy.

This Trail is around 1.7 miles long and takes about 1.5 hours to complete. It is wheelchair accessible although it does include a large hill early on the Trail which may make it unsuitable for some wheelchair users. It is suitable for pushchairs and all ages.
