But he had the last laugh when he discovered an unpublished tale that a famous authoress has written while visiting Birnam as a girl. Now Mr Jones has mysteriously disappeared leaving the hiding place of the priceless manuscript unknown! Can you follow the Trail, solve the clues, uncover the hiding place and maybe win a prize?!
Dunkeld and Birnam
Tucked away at the foot of thickly wooded hills, you will discover one of Perthshire's gems - the cathedral town of Dunkeld. Resting on the opposite bank of the River Tay is the Victorian village of Birnam. This Trail includes the High Street, the Beatrix Potter Garden, a play park, a short walk alongside the river and a wander around the Cathedral.
It is one and a half to two miles long and takes around an an hour and forty five minutes to complete. Unfortunately it is not suitable for wheelchairs.
