The Prince's Lost Treasure Hunt
It was the year 1643 and Prince Lovealot was on a journey through the town of Abingdon in search of a bride. Everywhere he went, the townspeople were eager to catch a glimpse of the Prince and his lavish carriage. But in the chaos of the crowd, the Prince was separated from his precious jewels and gold that he planned to give to his future bride.
Heartbroken by the loss of his treasure, the Prince quickly left Abingdon and never returned. To this day, the whereabouts of his lost treasure remains a mystery. Some say it is still buried somewhere in the town, waiting to be discovered. But beware, the Marauding Menaces, a gang of looters, are also on the hunt for the Prince's treasure and will stop at nothing to find it!

Please Note:
We are really sorry but as of Summer 2025, the weir bridge after the river lock at Clue 17 has been closed for safety reasons. We do not yet know when it will reopen. We've created a diversion route for the duration of the repairs but this involves a lengthy retracing of your steps (approx. 20 mins walk).
There is a section of the Trail route which can get very muddy after heavy rain, so we strongly advise suitable footwear.
