YOUR CASE
In the 1940s, the ghosts of historic soldiers were seen in a cottage in East Hendred, where it is believed they slept after the Battle of Newbury in 1643. A local ghost hunting group recently decided to spend some time in the cottage, and during the course of their investigations they found a treasure map believed to lead to the fortune of a wealthy local Lord killed in the battle. Can you solve the clues and find the hidden treasure?
East Hendred
The picturesque village of East Hendred nestles at the foot of a chain of hills known as The Downs in the historic Vale of the White Horse in South Oxfordshire.
The village is unusual in having a manor, Hendred House, which has been in the occupation of a single family for over six hundred years.
With its thatched cottages and period houses, East Hendred is a picture postcard village that is a pleasure to explore.
This is a walking Trail approximately 1.5 miles long, and with most of the walking taking place on paths and quiet village roads around the village. Although there are some gradients, the Trail is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Parking is available on the roads and the Trail starts outside the village shop on the High Street.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
Dear Sandy and Rod, On behalf of all who took part in the Topsham Treasure Trail Event yesterday, may I thank you for a very well organised and enjoyable afternoon. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and probably like me, discovered little areas of Topsham they had not seen before. I would definitely not hesitate in recommending you to friends and work contacts who want something a bit different for a social event.
