  • YOUR CASE

The body of local gardener and odd job man, Doug Upweeds, has been found under a mulberry bush at a prebend mansion. Did he dig up something he shouldn't have? The people of Southwell are shocked at such a thing happening in their peaceful town. Can you help solve the murder and put their minds at rest?

    Southwell

Southwell is the jewel in the crown of north Nottinghamshire. It is dominated by its minster, said to be the best-kept secret of all English Cathedrals. With its fascinating and varied heritage, evidenced in its historical architecture and landmarks, you will have an enjoyable day out. From tearooms to fine dining, you will be spoilt for choice. The icing on the cake is the existence of the world's first Bramley Apple tree, which was developed in the town in 1809. On a more sombre note, Charles I spent his last night of freedom at what is now known as the Saracen's Head; the next day, he surrendered and eventually was beheaded by the Parliamentarians.

This is a Murder Mystery Trail. The trail is 2 miles long and should take approximately 2 hours. It is suitable for pushchairs but unsuitable for wheelchairs.
