YOUR MISSION
Crazy scientist Dr Mak Hehm has hatched a mad plot which will be the heist to beat them all. He has secretly loosened the dome of the Spanish City and installed a machine that will pump it full of helium. He intends to float the famous landmark to another resort south of the Tyne and claim it as his own. Only he knows a secret code that will disable the helium machine. A series of clues in the area will lead to the dicovery of the code.
Whitley Bay
The Trail starts at Cullercoats metro station and finishes at Whitley Bay metro station. By having a walk around Cullercoats and Whitley Bay you will be following a long tradition of seaside strollers. This Trail is just short of three miles in length and should take about two and a half hours to complete. Whitley Bay became very popular in Victorian times with the arrival of the rail line. The town grew from a population of 300 in 1861 to 6,000 forty years later. The route of the Trail takes advantage of the Metro system as it starts and finishes at two stations. If you wish to use your sat nav to get to the station the post code is NE30 4PQ. Trailers can walk in the footsteps of the Cullercoats artists and later can inhale the heady atmosphere of Whitley Bay where signs of former past glory as the 'Blackpool of the North East' can still be picked out. Whitley Bay used to be simply called Whitley and had been recorded in 1100. It often got confused with Whitby in Yorkshire and the final straw came when an ex-resident died and his body was transported to Whitby by mistake. Residents voted for the name to be changed to its present one.
The Trail is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
Thank;s so much to Treasure Trails for a fantastic day out. Together with a large family group of nine, including five children aged from 18 months to 16 we completed the Whitley Bay trail during the half term holidays. Despite living in the area we saw many things that we had never noticed before and everyone really got into the challenge of spotting the answers to the clues. I can't recommend these enough - they're brilliant value for money, suitable for the whole family. You learn a lot about the place where the trail is based and everyone gets loads of exercise. Everyone said this was the best thing we did during our half term holidays. We will definitely be doing more of these trails and I'll be getting some for presents.
