  • YOUR MISSION

Britain's only offshore scupture is under threat. A jealous artist always thought her sculpture, 'On the rocks' should have been chosen. Now Mandy Lifeboat has buried an explosive device under 'The Couple'. It is set to go off today unless a secret code can be found. The locals are in a state of shock and need special help to locate the code to deactivate the bomb. Are you ready?

    Newbiggin-by- the-Sea

If you like sand and sea then Newbiggin-by-the-Sea is an ideal place to visit. In Victorian times it was Northumberland's favourite seaside town. Families from the region's coal mining communities used to come to enjoy the sea air. Earlier visitors came from across the North Sea many centuries ago. The name of the village is a Scandinavian term for a new beginning. The Trail takes you along an interesting and varied route around the village and includes a stroll along the curving promenade. It is about two miles long and should take about two and a half hours to complete. Only the strong willed could resist a coffee or an ice cream along the way. For those using a Sat Nav to get to the start the post code is NE64 6DR. Most of the route is acceptable for a wheelchair, clues 6 and 16 have a short steep part.

    Suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.

    WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
We thoroughly enjoyed the Newbiggin trail. We only live a couple of miles away and we had never noticed half of the things on the trail before. The whole family took part from 8 to 66 years old and we all had fun. What a great way to spend an afternoon. We'll definitely be ordering the other Northumbria Trails.
