  • YOUR CASE

In 1743, Stewart Browne left Portballintrae, never to be seen again. Last year a local librarian found an old book hidden in the town’s old library. It contained a map showing an ancient vault that Stewart had discovered. It also contained instructions (see below) on how to find the treasure that Stewart had collected. Now you have the chance to find the hidden treasure, solve the clues and discover the location!

    Portballintrae Treasure Hunt

Portballintrae is a popular seaside village situated just off the Causeway Coastal Route Road, to the north of Bushmills and to the east of the resorts of Portrush and Portstewart. It boasts a sheltered harbour, a quiet beach, a plethora of interesting rock pools and a beautifully situated nine-hole golf course. Its close proximity to Bushmills and the Giant's Causeway make it an excellent base from which to explore the Causeway Coast and the wider extended area of the North Coast of Northern Ireland.

Around Portballintrae you will walk on paved streets. Expect a slight climb and narrow sidewalks walking towards the NIEA Earthworks. Bushmills has ground paths and grass and you will have to find your own way around, the rest of the route is moderate ups and downs. Once inside the distillery you will not need to pay to find the clues needed to solve this mystery.

Suitable for wheelchairs but not wheelchairs. This four mile walk will take you past some of the most spectacular coasline in the world, dont forget to bring a camera.
