YOUR MISSION
A long forgotten World War 2 device, designed to destroy the cliffs around Overstrand in the event of an enemy invasion, has been uncovered. It is too delicate to move for fear of it exploding so must be disarmed first. Can you help our fearless bomb disposal expert, Candice Goboom, make the device safe by solving the clues and identifying the deactivation code?
Overstrand
Overstrand is a pretty village situated on the North Norfolk coast and blessed with beautiful golden beaches, making it popular with families. Like many other settlements in the area it has, however, been subjected to the effects of coastal erosion for many years. Once a thriving fishing community only a few boats now remain.
In the late 19th century Overstrand was known as the 'village of millionaires' - if you didn't own a property in the village then the next best thing was to know someone who did!
This is a walking Trail in the Spy Mission format. It is approximately 2 miles long and you should allow 2 hours to complete it. Whilst the ground is generally good underfoot there is one section of steep pathways (both down and up) which may affect the Trail suitability for wheelchairs.
Overstrand is located lust outside of Cromer and is signposted off the A140 Cromer to Aylsham road.
The Trail starts in the beach car park off Paul's Road (NR27 0PF) where pay and display parking is available. Free on-street parking may also be available, dependant on the time of year.
