  • YOUR CASE

Whilst preparing the ground for the recent renovations on the Walks a local contractor, 'Digger' Turfe, unearthed a treasure map that is believed to show the location of the lost Red Mount Chapel treasures. Unfortunately there are also a number of false locations shown on the map - the only way to identify the true location of the treasure is to solve the clues. Are you up to the challenge?

    King`s Lynn (Walks)

The Walks is the largest of the King`s Lynn parks, covering some 17 hectares. It is the only surviving town walk in Norfolk and dates back to the 18th Century when, rather than the municipal park it is now, it was a single promenade where the local citizens could get away from the smell and grime of the town centre. In 1998 the Walks was designated a Grade II National historic park by English Heritage. More recently, a considerable grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund allowed the Walks to undergo a full restoration which included the addition of modern amenities.

This Trail is set almost entirely within the grounds of the park. It is a walking Trail in the Treasure Hunt format. At approximately 1.8 miles long you should allow up to 2 hours to complete it (more if you intend to make good use of the play areas as well!). The ground underfoot is part pathway and part grass. It is, however, level throughout and considered suitable for both pushchairs and wheelchairs.

The nearest car park is the St James multi-storey car park off St James' Road (PE30 1BT). This is a pay-on-foot car park.
