YOUR MISSION
Crooked fossil hunter, Dinah Mite, is fed up waiting for cliffs to crumble to find new fossils and has come up with a dastardly plot to speed up the process - she intends to blow up the cliffs! Our agent, codename Double Uh Oh, located the code to dearm the bomb but has since been eliminated! However, he left a number of clues around Old Hunstanton - can you solve them and reveal the code and so foil Dinah Mite's evil plan?
Old Hunstanton
Hunstanton is a small seaside resort that lies at the mouth of The Wash, on the western end of the North Norfolk coast road. Affectionately known as “Sunny Hunny” the town has the unusual distinction of being an East Coast resort that faces West! The town is to all intents and purposes divided into two – the old village of Hunstanton to the North and the newer resort of Hunstanton St Edmund (generally referred to as New Hunstanton) to the South (and where there is a separate trail). Old Hunstanton is far quieter than its newer counterpart to the South, best characterized by its beach huts nestled in amongst the secluded sand dunes.
This is a Spy Trail. The trail is approximately 2 miles long and you should allow up to 2 hours to complete. Regrettably, as part of the trail takes you across the soft sand dunes it is not suitable for pushchair or wheelchair users. Out of season (Oct - Mar) there is usually on-road free parking available. In-season the nearest car park to the trail start point is next to the Le Strange Arms Hotel (PE36 6JJ). To find the start point follow the Norfolk Coast Road (A149). Look for, and initially follow, the signs for the Golf Course. The hotel is approximately 200yds on your left hand side. Continue past the hotel - the entrance to the Beach Car Park can be found directly next to the entrance to the hotel car park.
