  • YOUR CASE

During a dig in the grounds of the castle by the acclaimed archaeologist Dr "Knee" Bones a skeleton was discovered. Bones believes the victim was murdered and is seeking your help in trying to track down the culprit. A series of clues were left at the alleged scene of the crime - solve them and you could solve the case!

    Castle Acre

Set in the heart of Norfolk, a few miles north of Swaffham and accessible off the A1065, Castle Acre is a charming village which has many outstanding aspects. Whilst originally sited (for strategic reasons) on the crossing point of the River Nar and the famous Peddars Way it is probably best known for its Norman Castle earthworks, from which the town takes its name, and the ruins of the magnificent Cluniac Priory - both of which date from the latter half of the 11th Century. Please note that as there are both opening hours restrictions and an entry fee payable for the Priory it has regrettably been excluded from the Trail.

This is a walking Murder Mystery Trail. Part of the trail is over some potentially uneven ground which whilst considered suitable for pushchairs is regrettably not considered suitable for wheelchairs. The trail is just under 2 miles long and should take approximately 2 hours to complete. Parking is on-road, including around the trail start point at the village green (PE32 2AE), and is free.
