  • YOUR MISSION

During local construction work a capsule containing a sleeping gas, designed by absent minded scientist Prof Lou Kneetoon, has been unearthed. Its exposure to air has started the automatic release countdown timer - if released it will put residents of Norfolk into a deep sleep. Unfortunately the Professor can't remember the deactivation code - can YOU solve the clues, reveal the deactivation code and keep Norfolk awake?!

    The Birchams Trail Cycling

This trail is set around 'The Birchams'. Starting in Great Bircham it takes in the villages of Great Bircham, Bircham Newton, Bircham Tofts and the site that was formerly RAF Bircham Newton, now home to the National Construction College East together with the surrounding beautiful countryside. Parking should be available at the Social Club in Church Street (PE31 6QW).

This is a cycling trail in the Spy format. Whilst it is possible to also complete this trail on foot it is unsuitable as a driving trail as a number of the clues are located in an area where motor vehicles are prohibited. As a walking trail it is, sadly, not considered suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs. The trail is approximately 12 miles long and has a number of small inclines to negotiate along the way (bear in mind we are in Norfolk - these inclines cannot be classified as hills!). The trail is mainly over metalled surfaces (although the bridle-path section can be 'muddy' depending on the time of year). It is considered suitable for child carrier bike trailers.
