  • YOUR CASE

Recent restoration work in the parish church has uncovered a map, and clues, that could lead to the uncovering of treasures rumoured to have been hidden away by Monks during the suppression of the monastery in the 16th century. Can you help local archaeologist, 'Digga' Bones, solve the clues and so get to the bottom of this puzzling mystery.

    Binham

Binham is a small village close to the North Norfolk coast, and dominated by the magnificent 12th century church and monastic ruins on its outskirts. The trail covers both the village and the architecturally significant Priory. With thanks to the Binham PCC, the Norfolk Archaeological Trust and English Heritage for their help with the creation of this Trail.

This is a walking Trail in the Treasure Hunt format. The Trail is just over 1 mile long and you should allow approximately 1 hour to complete it. The Trail starts at the car park of the Memorial Village Hall (in the vicinity of NR21 0DE), in Warham Road, where free parking should be available. Certain aspects of the Trail, particularly around the Priory ruins, are over uneven ground and/or have steps to negotiate. This Trail is therefore not considered suitable for wheelchair users.
