  • YOUR CASE

Local residents are in shock after the well-respected dog trainer, Ruby Dubidoux, has gone missing whilst out walking her four-legged friends . Foul play is suspected. Police Detective, Jason DeVillain, needs all the help he can get if he is to solve this mystery. Are you just the type of super sleuth he is after? Can you solve the case of the dog trainers last walk?

    Aylsham

Situated on the banks of the River Bure, in an area also referred to as the Garden of Norfolk, Aylsham is a pleasant market town whose history is first noted in the Domesday Book. Its historic Market Place is owned by the National Trust as part of the nearby Blickling Hall estate - some of the building frontages date back to the early 18th Century. For a different historical insight take a look in the window of the Market Place barbers shop where a display of old hairdressing implements can be found! Amazingly, until 1938 there was no fresh water supply to the town and all water was drawn from private wells.

This is a walking trail and is approximately 2 miles long. You should allow 2 hours to complete it. There are a couple of minor inclines and the terrain under foot is good It is considered suitable for both push chairs and wheelchairs. Aylsham is located on the A140 midway between Norwich (to the South) and Cromer (to the North). Parking is free throughout Aylsham (a good reason to visit for a start!) although some car parks have time limit restrictions. The most suitable car park, which is conveniently located at the Trail start point, adjoins the Bure Valley Railway Station (NR11 6LE). Non rail users should follow the parking instructions to park in the 'yellow' bays at the far end of the car park. Please note that market day in Aylsham is on Mondays - this may make some of the clues based around the Market Place more challenging!
